Promote and Advance Issues Among Lawmakers

Travis Johnson started 1607 Strategies in 2019.  As a native of Virginia and graduate of the College of William and Mary, he was drawn to early Virginia history and named the firm in honor of the Jamestown colony.  After it was established in 1607, the colony endured a challenging environment that seemed insurmountable but survived as the first permanent English settlement in America.

Today, 1607 Strategies uses its proven experience and demonstrated ability to pass niche issues in a challenging political environment.  The company represents top Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) and Paycheck Protection (PPP) financial firms and works with a broad range of companies on various issues. These include fintech, marketplace lending, crypto currency, payment systems, banking regulatory reform, issues and regulations affecting insurance companies, financial services, tax, and securities. 1607 Strategies also has experience with terrorism risk insurance, flood insurance, and corporate governance issues. Travis has advocated for tax policy changes and banking regulatory reform in Congress, including the implementation of regulatory actions.
